Witten writes in his latest masterpiece of scholastic polemics, -- it is only 85 pages dense -- that the dimension of G is length. (page 1, last paragraph.)

What is the difference between units and dimensions

I believe that dimensions cannot just be removed by Wittenian sophistry and by label substitutions.

Setting a quantity to unity does not make its dimensions disappear.

I am confused about what's going on here so I asked the question at sci.math.
